MUSICIANS

Keandra, President

 is a Steel Pan musician from St. Kitts & Nevis, with roots in Caribbean music since childhood. She started playing Steel Pan at nine years old and now performs on Tenor Pan, Double Seconds, Six Bass, and Guitar Pan.

After seeing a workshop post on Facebook in 2016, she checked out Trincan and has been a part of the Steel Pan Community ever since. She loves sharing the beauty and history of Steel Pan and has celebrated many highlights, including Trincan's 40th Anniversary and performing “Die With A Smile” at the 2025 Western Canada Steel Bands Showcase.

Alongside Steel Pan, Keandra also enjoys Singing, Photography, and Music Production while blending her creativity with a background in Biology (genetics).

Taneya Rogers

A longtime Steel Pan lover who also played Piano growing up in Trinidad and Tobago, joined Trincan after responding to a Trincan call-out for Steel Pan players and has been part of the community ever since. She performs on Tenor Pan and has been a dedicated member of Trincan for the past eight years. Taneya loves sharing Caribbean culture across Western Canada, cherishing the camaraderie within the band and the growth that comes with every practice. A standout moment was arranging and performing her first piece which featured her favorite old-school soca song “Lorraine.”

Outside of Pan, Taneya finds joy in Dog Boarding, Stand-up Paddle Boarding, Hiking, and Travel while keeping creativity and adventure at the heart of her life.

Jhinelle

is a multi-talented musician from Jamaica with 19 years of musical experience. She performs on Tenor Pan, Double Tenor, Tenor Bass, Six Bass, and also plays Guitar and Piano.

She joined Trincan after meeting Keandra and Danielle during a 5 Artists 1 Love rehearsal, originally just asking how to get a case for her Steel Pan and has now been part of Trincan for almost 2 years. Jhinelle loves the Steel Pan community, the music, and the opportunities to grow with highlights including performing at the CANPAD event and from her younger years playing the classic “Toco Band.”

Beyond Pan, she is a certified Scuba Diver and a true creative, passionate about Singing, Dancing, Theatre, Songwriting, Playwriting, Choral Arranging, and all things Marine Life.

Ava Gobin

is a young musician from Canada, proudly representing Trinidad & Tobago through her music. She plays flute and piano, and discovered her love for Steel Pan after joining her brother at a practice session, trying it once and instantly falling in love.

She has been part of TSO for two years, appreciating how patient and supportive everyone is with new players. A standout moment for Ava was performing “Die With A Smile” at the 2025 Western Canada Steel Bands Showcase.

A lefty and a natural creative, Ava also enjoys singing, drawing, and crafting bringing her artistic spirit into everything she does.

Ajani Inniss-Reynolds

is a musician from Canada, proudly representing Guyana and Jamaica. He performs on Guitar Pan and Tenor Pan with Trincan since 2018. A lifelong musician, he also plays Piano, Alto Sax, and Sings bringing 13 years of musical experience to every performance.

Ajani’s Steel Pan journey began when his family took lessons with Danielle George and he “took to pan like a duck to water.” Since then, he has grown with Trincan cherishing the camaraderie of the band and sharing Caribbean culture across Alberta. Memorable moments include the band’s 40th Anniversary, performing at Cariwest, and creating medleys that get both band and audience dancing.

Outside of pan, Ajani enjoys Circus Arts, Sports, Anime, Video Games, Theatre, Reading, and spending time with family and friends embracing a wide range of creative and intellectual pursuits.

Shiela

Jayde Campbell (Woman on De Bass)

is an extremely dynamic musician from Jamaica bringing the powerful sound of Six Bass to Trincan, where she has made her mark for over a year and a half. She discovered Steel Pan after joining her best friend at a practice, and with encouragement from the band leaders instantly fell in love with the instrument.

Jayde thrives on making music with people she cares about and sharing that joy to everyone around her. A standout moment was performing at the CANPAD event, an experience full of excitement and energy. Though she hadn’t played instruments before, Jayde channels her creativity through Kingdom Youth Choir and Dance, infusing every performance with rhythm, passion, and heart.

Desirae (Woman on De Bass)

is a musician from Canada, proudly representing Trinidad and Tobago. 

She plays Six Bass and is currently learning Tenor Pan. She joined Trincan in May 2024 after falling in love with Steel Pan during a trip to Trinidad.

Being part of Trincan gives Desirae a sense of purpose and connection to her heritage. She values the family atmosphere of the band, the patience of senior members, and the chance to grow as a musician while performing alongside well-known artists. Memorable highlights include the 2024 Western Canada Steel Bands Showcase and Cariwest Festival, with “Dotish” being her favorite song to play.

Outside of pan, Desirae is a Nurse, enjoys Bible Study, Church, Choir Practice, and mentoring newly graduated Nurses.
